Living in poverty causes physical changes to the brain. Each of our schools has low-income students, so understanding the impact of poverty is important for all teachers and staff. While it is important to understand how poverty impacts the lives of our young people, we have to also understand how poverty impacts the parents of our students. Furthermore, it is important to understand best practices associated with working with parents. In this session, you will learn those things and leave with tactics to increase engagement with your low-income parents.
